Meet the team: Emily

At 360 Digital Starters, we believe that the people behind a company are just as important as the products or services they offer. That's why, in this week’s ‘meet the team', we're excited to shine the spotlight on Emily who, with a passion for writing and a keen eye for detail, has been an invaluable asset to our organization since joining us. Whether she's crafting compelling personality tests, fun quizzes, or brand copy, Emily brings a unique perspective and a strong voice to every project she takes on. Read on to learn more about Emily and her contributions to our team.

Hi Emily!

As someone who has lived all over the world, what led you to settle in Germany?

I’ve been really lucky in that respect. I grew up in Brunei, which was all rainforests and sandy beaches so that was great. Along the way, I’ve also lived in Australia and done some teaching in Seoul. I fully intended to settle down in London but when I met my husband (who’s Italian) I moved over to Torino, Italy—which is my favorite place in the world, hands down. We came to Germany for the opportunity really. He got a job in Luxembourg and Germany is such a good place to raise a family that we decided to make the leap and try it. I’m glad we did.

What is your role on the team and what are your primary responsibilities?

I’m a member of our fabulous content team. I write whatever and whenever is needed!

I’ve had the opportunity to write lots of different content.

At the moment I write mostly for our TerraYou platform, which has been a really interesting experience because I’ve had the opportunity to write lots of different content.

Tell us about a product that you’re most proud of

The Learning to Thrive booklet. This was a standalone handbook that we created for our TerraYou customers to help them harness their potential and find their center. We wanted it to be a tool of personal empowerment.

It was a big endeavor that required a lot of research to make sure the information and resources provided maximum value and enjoyment. I loved this project especially because I got to work closely with our design team to make the whole thing come to life.

What are some upcoming projects or initiatives that you're excited about?

I’m working on a new product for our TerraYou audience at the moment, which I’m really enjoying. I can’t give too much away, but it’s based on a Japanese life philosophy and I love learning about it as I develop the test.

What do you believe are the most important skills for someone in your role? Any recommendations for aspiring content writers?

I think a good content writer needs the perfect balance between technical skills and their ability to tell a story. Depending on your role, content creation can be anything from UX copy to white papers, so make sure you’re versatile.

Personally, I’d recommend a joy for the structure of language and the development of a broad vocabulary. Primarily, however؅—like any role—you should have a passion for it and be willing to adapt and grow as the role develops. You also need to be a team player, because the content team is really good at supporting each other when it’s needed.

As a fully remote team member, how do you find the experience of working from home?

Working from my home in Konz has been wonderful for me. Where I live the content writing positions aren’t as exciting as the work I do with 360DS, so it’s been fantastic for me professionally that I can work remotely. It’s also nice to be around for my family—my daughter is still only 2.

Downsides? I’d love to spend more time with the team in person and to see members from other departments so that I can recognize more names and faces.

Top tips for anyone visiting Konz?

…. to stay on the train until the next stop at Trier! It’s only five minutes away and it’s the oldest town in Germany, as well as the birthplace of Karl Marx.

And finally…after a busy week busting out content, how do you like to relax and unwind?

By making questionable Netflix choices and cooking a giant Sunday lunch for my family!

Thank you, Emily!
